Task 4 Statement of intent

I plan to select using my typography using the website dafont.com which will be conventional of the genre I will be using, which will be HIP Hop. For my magazine, the masthead I will be using will be large and bold. This will attract a lot of attention, especially from the 14-18 year olds' (my target demographic) who enjoy the pop culture and ultimately convince my target demographic to buy this magazine when it will be in shops or on stands outside. The font that I will use is "arista" which will make the magazine catch peoples eyes and attract them to the magazine, inevitably making the person pick the magazine which may also lead to the person to purchase the magazine.

Because my target demographic are 14-18 year olds of both genders, i want to make sure the musical artists are presented as youthful, fun and exciting. i intend to put pop stars with alot of exposure and star power on the front of my cover, such as Ariana grande, as they will be aspirational for my target audience and will also stand out.

Again, to attract the attention of my target audience i will use a number of means in order so that they can connect with the magazine. for example, i will use colloquial language on the cover lines, as the audience will be able to identify with the mode of address and perhaps even be able to connect with the language used in the magazine.

I am to make a music magazine aimed at 14-18 year olds. The genre my magazine will be on is going to be HIP Hop music, because pop music is very popular among teenagers and the top charts are always dominated by pop music artists.

Codes and conventions

1. The cover page of a HIP Hop magazine will be full of bright colors such as pink, orange and orange etc. this is so that the magazine stands out and compliments the magazines bright and cheerful nature.

2. the style of the HIP Hop magazine will be informal with a mixture of text and pictures, so that the audience will be interested instead of reading a whole page of text.

3. The magazine will have fashion section in order to attract teenage girls who are most likely to be interested in the styles and fashion of their favorite pop artist.

4. The magazine will include direct address whilst also including slang, such as "spesh", in order so that the reader can relate to the magazine.

5.  The magazine will also contain information within the magazine such as prizes to be won. words such as "Brand new" and "Exclusive" will be used to grab the readers attention and make them eager to read the magazine.
